Cross-dehydrogenative coupling reactions obviate the need for substrate prefunctionalization and can offer additional advantages such as high efficiency and atom economy. CDC reactions are triggered by transition-metal catalysts or simply by an oxidant, or by either photocatalysis or electrocatalysis, leading to hetero- or homo-coupled products with the formal removal of two hydrogens.
In this Thieme WebCheminar, chaired by Debabrata Maiti, Editor of the recent Science of Synthesis volume Cross-Dehydrogenative Coupling and also Editor-in-Chief of Synlett, Suman De Sarkar (India), Tatiana Besset (France) and Bert Maes (Belgium) will discuss recent results in this field alongside related synthetic methodology topics including C-H functionalization.
