180616 PrixSchlaefliThe Prix Schläfli, one of the oldest science prizes in Switzerland (since 1866), is awarded by the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) to young scientists for excellent articles resulting from PhDs in each one of the following natural sciences disciplines:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Geosciences
  • Physics

Eligible are young researchers who did their doctoral thesis at a Swiss University or Swiss nationals who did their PhD thesis abroad.

Candidates must have defended their doctoral thesis between 1 November 2015 and 31 October 2018. Nominations can be submitted by the supervisor of the candidate or by a SCNAT member society.

A jury is established for each of the four disciplines in order to evaluate the nominations. Prize consists of CHF 5000 and support for a conference participation in each of the scientific fields.
