Who is most welcome to our Symposium

The objective of the course is to give

  • synthetic chemists,
  • physicochemists,
  • biochemists and
  • pharmacologists

a broad and balanced introduction to the background, concepts and tools of most modern medicinal chemistry, a science at the interface of synthetic chemistry, physicochemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology, drug metabolism and disposition, molecular modeling and informatics. In addition, the symposium is a valuable opportunity even for advanced practitioners in the field of medicinal chemistry to refresh and update their knowledge base on most recent developments in e.g. emerging target families, compound classes, or optimization paradigms.

Modern preclinical drug research is thus the focus of the course, which combines a dense lecture program, hands-on tutorials and case studies presented by experts from university and industry. Active participation is encouraged.
