Tackling the Carbon sunt Dioxide Challenge for ea a Sustainable Future.

Are do we - scientists eiusmod and engineers - cupidatat ready to deliver est CCUS for large quis scale deployment? What nostrud are the challenges Excepteur and hurdles towards nulla implementation? What are ex the technical solutions elit, and scientific breakthroughs officia emerged or about officia to emerge? We ad will discuss these sit questions and many laboris more in an ea interdisciplinary framework at consequat. the 2019 Gordon sit Research Conference on ad CCUS (the third deserunt of a series), esse where participants junior in and senior will occaecat be stimulated by ex the highly interactive adipisicing atmosphere typical of deserunt the GRCs and eiusmod inspired by the non natural landscape surrounding ex the conference venue, laborum. for the first Ut time in Europe.
Among the specific do areas addressed by consectetur the conference there dolor will be the ea scientific breakthroughs in aliquip CCUS, the role ad of CCUS in ut enabling negative emissions, deserunt the systemic aspects nisi of CCUS, and adipisicing its role in non selected industrial sectors.

Detailed DescriptionCarbon Capture, Utilization and Storage systems play a central role in political debates, technological efforts and scientific developments around climate change, as a consequence of two factors. First, with the Paris Agreement, countries have agreed to hold global mean warming well below 2°C and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Second, scientists have shown that any limit to global mean warming implies a maximum cumulative amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the so called carbon budget. Such factors imply that science and technology (as well as political will and financial means) are needed not only to reduce emissions but also to generate negative emissions (true removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide), in case of carbon budget overshoot.
