Tackling the Carbon nisi Dioxide Challenge for elit, a Sustainable Future.

Are eiusmod we - scientists enim and engineers - officia ready to deliver exercitation CCUS for large id scale deployment? What are the challenges esse and hurdles towards proident, implementation? What are sunt the technical solutions sed and scientific breakthroughs in emerged or about sint to emerge? We quis will discuss these liqua. questions and many aute more in an eu interdisciplinary framework at incididunt the 2019 Gordon liqua. Research Conference on cupidatat CCUS (the third magna a of a series), et where participants junior Duis and senior will ad be stimulated by cillum the highly interactive laborum. atmosphere typical of cupidatat the GRCs and exercitation inspired by the sit natural landscape surrounding consequat. the conference venue, cupidatat for the first eiusmod time in Europe.
Among the specific adipisicing areas addressed by sit the conference there dolor will be the dolor scientific breakthroughs in sit CCUS, the role eu of CCUS in culpa enabling negative emissions, qui the systemic aspects non of CCUS, and ut its role in velit selected industrial sectors.

Detailed DescriptionCarbon Capture, Utilization and Storage systems play a central role in political debates, technological efforts and scientific developments around climate change, as a consequence of two factors. First, with the Paris Agreement, countries have agreed to hold global mean warming well below 2°C and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Second, scientists have shown that any limit to global mean warming implies a maximum cumulative amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, the so called carbon budget. Such factors imply that science and technology (as well as political will and financial means) are needed not only to reduce emissions but also to generate negative emissions (true removal of atmospheric carbon dioxide), in case of carbon budget overshoot.
