2nd European young Chemists' Meeting (2nd EYCheM), Bremen, March 20-23, 2019

The young chemist's section of the German Chemical Society (GDCh-JCF) will host the 2nd European young Chemists' Meeting (2nd EYCheM) together with the 21st GDCh-JCF Spring Symposium (Frühjahrssymposium) in Bremen from the 20th to 23rd of March 2019.

The conference will feature distinguished plenary speakers, including Prof. David Cole-Hamilton (University of St. Andrews, UK) and Prof. David Leigh (University of Manchester, UK).

The deadline for the registration, as well as for abstract submission is 15th of December 2018.

The Reaxys PhD Prize returns in 2019!

We are delighted to announce that the prestigious and popular Reaxys PhD Prize is relaunching in 2019! This is a superb opportunity for the best and brightest young chemists in Switzerland who are engaged in chemical sciences research to get international recognition and join an exclusive community of chemists – we encourage you to share details about this competition to all members within your network.

What is the Reaxys PhD Prize?
The Reaxys PhD Prize is the most important and recognized international prize for young chemists. It celebrates innovative, rigorous and forward-thinking research, helping the finalists and winners to drive their careers forward and network with other excellent scientists. 

Who can apply?
Anyone who is currently doing or has recently completed a PhD (after 1st Jan 2018) in the chemical sciences is eligible to enter.

What are the submission requirements?
The application process is simple. Students must supply:
• An example of an accepted, peer-reviewed article that showcases their work
• A CV
• A short personal statement
• A letter of recommendation from their PhD supervisor
Only one candidate per research group can apply

When will the competition open?
The competition will open in mid-January and close in mid-March.

"Visit each other" at Swiss Universities: EPFL, Nov 17, 2018

Dear all,

While performing your research in Switzerland, what do you know about other Swiss research institutes and their locations?

If the answer is “not a lot”, then we are happy to invite you to an event, organized by the Swiss Young Chemists’ Association (SYCA). It will take place in Lausanne, November 17th (Saturday) at 11 a.m.

The program includes a brief exploration of the EPFL campus followed by a visit of the center of Lausanne and (optionally) having a beer/dinner together closer to the evening.

SwissSnowSymposium 2019, Saas-Fee, 25.-27.01.2018

190125 Icon SSS2019We are delighted to welcome you on the website of the SwissSnowSymposium 2019, which will take place from 25th to 27th January 2019. The 17th edition of this traditional symposium will be hold in once more in Saas-Fee and provides a innovative platform for young chemists to present their work and to exchange their experience.

A well balanced mix between lectures, short talks and poster session as well as get-togethers at the hotel bar and snow fun activities on the slopes of the Allalin-Mountain guarantee a unique experience of science and fun.


The number of participants is limited to 60 and we confirm the participations on a first-come-first-serve basis.

We hope to see also you in Saas-Fee in late January!
