Chemistry Travel Awards 2015
Through the «SCNAT/SCS/SSFEC Chemistry Travel Award», contributions towards the cost of participation at an international conference in the chemical sciences are granted to selected PhD students. Selections are based on their scientific accomplishments and on the submitted conference abstract.
The «Platform Chemistry» of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT), the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS) and the Swiss Society for Food and Environmental Chemistry (SSFEC) announce the «2015 SCNAT/SCS/SSFEC Chemistry Travel Award»:
The award includes a contribution of CHF 1'000 towards the cost of active participation (poster or oral presentation) at an international conference in the field of the chemical sciences. A total of 45 awards will be distributed to selected doctoral students from Swiss research institutions. Selection will be based primarily on scientific accomplishment and on the submitted conference abstract.

Review and Photos Swiss Snow Symposium 2015
More than 60 participants joined the Swiss Snow Symposium 2015 in Saas Fee from January 23-25, 2015 and enjoyed a perfect organized event and a good mix of scientific talks/posters, snow sports and social interaction.

Reaxys PhD Prize - Call open until Feb 16, 2015

The prize is awarded to current or very recent graduate chemists who have shown excellence is synthetic chemistry. The Prize is intended to celebrate the very best research being performed by some of the very brightest of today’s young stars.

2015 IUPAC-SOLVAY International Award for Young Chemists announced
The 2015 IUPAC-SOLVAY International Award for Young Chemists is intended to encourage outstanding young research scientists at the beginning of their careers. The awards are given for the most outstanding Ph.D. theses in the general area of the chemical sciences, as described in a 1000-word essay. The award, which is now generously sponsored by Solvay, succeeds the IUPAC Prize for Young Chemists.
IUPAC will award up to five prizes annually. Each prize will consist of USD 1000 cash and travel expenses to the next IUPAC Congress. In keeping with IUPAC's status as a global organization, efforts will be made to assure fair geographic distribution of prizes.
The awards will be presented biennially at the IUPAC Congress. Each awardee will be invited to present a poster on his/her research and to participate in a plenary award session, and is expected to submit a review article for possible publication in Pure and Applied Chemistry.
