The call for nominations for the EuCheMS Lecture Award is now online.

The deadline for nominations is 31 December 2017.

Each year, the major achievements of one junior scientist working in chemistry in a country with a EuCheMS Member Organisation will be rewarded. The winner will receive a statuette and the opportunity to give a lecture at the next European Chemistry Congress (ECC) or at a conference of an EuCheMS Professional Network (PN). The guidelines for the Lecture Award can be found here.

 

Please check the updated guidelines, as the rationale behind the EuCheMS Lecture Award was significantly different until 2016.

The call for nominations for the EuCheMS European Chemistry Gold Medal is now online.

The deadline for nominations is 31 December 2017.

Every two years, the exceptional achievements of one scientist working in the field of chemistry in Europe will be rewarded. The winner will receive a gold medal and the opportunity to give the opening lecture at the next European Chemistry (EuCheMS) Congress (ECC). The guidelines for this award can be found here.

This is the first time the European Chemistry Gold Medal will be awarded.

The ABCChem Technical Programming Committee invites chemistry professionals across the regions to give oral and poster presentations. All potential presentations for ABCChem must be entered using the abstract submission website before the deadline of Monday, 18 September 2017.

Themes

Technical sessions for ABCChem will be arranged according to the four themes of the conference and all presentations, in both oral and poster formats, must address one of the following themes in order to be applicable:

  • Chemistry in Biology
  • Green Chemistry
  • Materials and Nano Chemistry
  • Physical and Analytical Chemistry

On August 21 and 22, the chemical community in Switzerland met in Bern for the SCS Fall Meeting 2017. The two-days event was packed with an exciting and diversified program and offered cutting-edge science for senior and junior scientists from academia and industry. More than 1'000 participants followed the invitation and travelled to the vonRoll Areal at University of Bern.

Markus Steinke, representative of Metrohm, and Roman Imhof from DSM awarded a total of 37 winners at the end of the SCS Fall Meeting at University of Bern on August 21-22, 2017 and handed over the awards for the ‚Best Oral Presentations‘ and the ‚Best Poster Presentations‘ 2017.
