Chirality 2016: July 24-27, 2016, Heidelberg (GER)
The International Chirality Symposium is the largest, most recognized international conference and exposition devoted to stereochemistry covering all aspects from asymmetric catalysis and synthesis, enantioselective separations and spectroscopy.
We have an exciting scientific program starting with the Chirality Medal Award lecture given by Andreas Pfaltz. We have overall 92 scientific lectures and currently registered attendees from over 40 countries!
The conference includes
- Short Courses - available the Sunday preceding the meeting.
- Poster Presentation Award - To encourage young researchers, a Poster Presentation Award is planned for excellent poster presentations.
- Exhibition/Lunch Seminars - The Symposium will be complemented by an exhibition showing the latest innovations in scientific instruments and by technical seminars on novel
- developments in the field of chirality.
- Publication of the conference proceedings in Chirality.
- Conference banquet at romantic Heidelberg Castle. Dinner will be served created by Michelin-Star Chef Martin Scharff.
The program will be online in the next days on the Chirality homepage under the link Scientific Program at www.chirality2016.com

SCS Fall Meeting: Abstract Submission open until May 20, 2016
On behalf of the Division of Fundamental Research of the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS), we are pleased to invite you to the SCS Fall Meeting on September 15, 2016. As in 2014, this year’s Fall Meeting is organized jointly by ETH Zürich and the University of Zürich; the event will take place at the University of Zürich Irchel campus.
The call for contributions is open until May 20, 2016. Apply for a poster presentation or a short talk of 15min in one of the eight parallel sessions.
Instructions for the use of the SCS Conference tool
The Swiss Chemical Society Fall Meeting is the largest annual scientific event in Switzerland. It offers a unique opportunity for graduate students, post-doctoral researchers and scientists of all levels, from both, academia and industry, to share the results of their research projects. It also stimulates the exchange of ideas between all generations of chemists, often creating the seeds for new projects and collaborations.
One of the highlights of this year’s Fall Meeting will be the Paracelsus Award Lecture presented by Prof. Michael Graetzel of the EPF Lausanne. The Scientific Program will offer invited and contributed lectures as well as poster presentations in the following areas of chemistry:
- Analytical Sciences
- Catalysis Science & Engineering
- Computational Chemistry
- Inorganic & Coordination Chemistry
- Medicinal Chemistry & Chemical Biology
- Organic Chemistry
- Physical Chemistry
- Polymers, Colloids & Interfaces.
As in previous years, the best poster presentations and oral contributions in each session will be awarded prizes. There will also be a Commercial Exhibition.
We encourage you to come to Zürich to present your research and to be part of a vibrant meeting. We look forward to seeing you!
Best regards,
Fall Meeting Organizers:
Hans P. Lüthi, ETH Zürich

EuCheMS Individual Supporters and Friends
Individuals are given the possibility to support the work of EuCheMS by promoting and participating in EuCheMS activities, by getting up to date, by sharing their ideas and concerns, or via financial support. According to the EuCheMS Constitution, however, individuals cannot become direct members of EuCheMS.
Supporting the chemical sciences is a task that countless people carry-on every day, from the researcher trying to solve the energy problem, to the policy-maker who includes scientific advice in his or her policy decisions, from the secondary school chemistry teacher who awakens the passion for the periodic table to the common citizen who likes to stay aware about chemistry and subscribes to EuCheMS newsletters.
For those who have the financial means to support the work of EuCheMS in promoting the chemical sciences, we now also offer the change for you to become a friend of EuCheMS. In order to contribute, simply click on the donate button below to donate 25€ or more.
