Two new e-learning courses provided by UNITAR
The courses are aimed at professionals working on a full-time basis in the field of chemicals management as well as professionals in other related fields who wish to acquire further knowledge on the topic.
Introduction to Nanomaterial Safety
Date: 5 May – 27 June 2014
Background: Nano-containing products is a fast growing market being used extensively throughout the world in consumer products, health sector, and industrial processes. While this new technology offers an array of benefits, more research needs to be done to understand how these nanomaterials could potential effect human health and the environment. Participants will therefore, learn about global, national and sector-specific challenges and opportunities for safe development and use of nanomaterials. Additionally, participants will begin to develop basic skills for recognizing safety concerns and applying risk management approaches to manufactured nanomaterial.
Fee: USD 600
Register directly at: http://www.unitar.org/event/introduction-nanomaterial-safety
Classifying and Labelling Chemicals According to the UN GHS
Date: 12 May – 30 June 2014
Background: Participants will learn about the purpose, scope, and application of the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS); classification of hazardous substances and mixtures; and hazard communication (labelling and safety data sheets).
Fee: USD 1,000
Register directly at: http://www.unitar.org/event/classifying-and-labelling-chemicals-according-un-ghs
The webinars are provided by the Chemicals and Waste Management Programme of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
