The SCS Division of Industrial & Applied Chemistry (DIAC) awards the DIAC Fellowship 2025 to

Dr. Philippe Dupau, DSM-Firmenich

for his outstanding contributions in the discovery, development and industrial implementation of many innovative and robust catalytic methodologies for the sustainable and cost efficient synthesis of iconic perfumery ingredients such as Paradisone®, Rose Ketones, and campholenic aldehyde-based sandalwood odorants to name just a few. Furthermore, we acknowledge his outstanding contributions in the field of industrial catalysis (e.g. cationic Cp-type Ru homogeneous complexes for stereoselective 1,4-hydrogenation of conjugated dienes, Ru complexes bearing aminophosphine ligands for chemoselective catalysis of ester hydrogenation, and the chemoselective hydrogenation of aldehydes under base-free conditions).

Dr. Philippe Dupau will receive the certificate at the DIAC Annual Meeting on May 14, 2025.

DIAC Fellowship Program

The nomination as DIAC Fellow is granted to distinguished scientists from Industry for significant contributions and innovations over many years in the field of industrial chemistry and chemical process technology in Switzerland. The yearly award is sponsored by the Division of Industrial & Applied Chemistry (DIAC) of the Swiss Chemical Society and consists of a prize sum of CHF 1’000 as well an invitation to give lectures at Swiss academic and industrial institutions.

Submit your nominations for the DIAC Fellowship 2026 to by September 30, 2025. The dossier should include a nomination letter (self-nominations are not accepted), the CV and a list of the most important publications of the candidate.
