Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Organic Chemistry
Successful candidates are expected to establish a successful, internationally recognized and externally funded research program. A focus on organic chemistry in the broadest sense is desirable. Areas of interest include analytical chemistry, methods and/or target-oriented synthesis, prebiotic (origin of life) chemistry, chemical biology, and physical-organic chemistry.
At the assistant professor level, commitment to teaching and the ability to lead a research group are expected. Collaborations with colleagues within and outside the ETH are encouraged. Generous annual support for students and supplies will be provided by the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry to supplement external support obtained for her / his research program.
Assistant professorships have been established to promote the careers of younger scientists. ETH Zurich implements a tenure track system equivalent to other top international universities.

This symposium is an initiative of the Photochemistry Section of the Swiss Chemical Society to promote the exchange within the photochemistry community in Switzerland and beyond.
This event will comprise scientific contributions from all areas of photochemistry as well as three invited lectures.

- Prof. Pablo Rivera-Fuentes, EPFL Lausanne, University of Zurich as of Feb 2022
- Prof. Ferdinand Grozema, TU Delft, Netherlands

SCS-Members: CHF 120.-

Student Participants: CHF 50.-
Short Talks and Elevator Speeches
Participants are invited to submit an abstract during the registration process and to apply for a contribution:
- 2 slots for invited lectures (20 min) for a young faculty or a postdoc
- 7 slots for short talks (15 minute)
- 10 slots for an elevator speech (3min and max 2 slides).

Best Presentation Awards at the Photochemistry Symposium 2020
The symposium, that took place on Friday, 19 June 2020, was an initiative of the Photochemistry Section of the Swiss Chemical Society to promote the exchange within the photochemistry community in Switzerland and beyond.
The event comprised scientific contributions from all areas of photochemistry as well as three invited lectures on the topics of ultrafast spectroscopy, environmental photochemistry and luminescent material.
Due to COVID-19 restrictiosn we had to reduced the format and had to shift the symposium to a virtual classroom. More than 150 participants from 24 countries all over the world registered for the event.
