The aim of the project is to develop a catalytic pathway to valorize biomasses from forests and agriculture to produce compounds that can be used for construction materials, paper and cardboard, and fine chemicals including food ingredients. The project partners represent universities, industrial end-users, and SMEs. The partnership covers eight EU countries with Spain leading the project. During the three-year project period, we will organize six Roundtables with this event in Switzerland being the second one.

The purpose of the Roundtable is to encourage discussions and knowledge sharing between European research and innovation projects and, stakeholders in the Swiss bioeconomy to identify good practices and pathways for connecting research and industry. The outcomes of the Roundtable will support the exploitation work of research and innovation projects with an overall aim of underpinning the European bioeconomy.

Thought participants in the event are stakeholders from the Swiss bioeconomy (companies, biomass providers, technology providers, investors, innovation intermediaries, researchers, government, associations etc.) and project partners from biobased research and innovation projects including FRACTION. The meeting is also a forum for strengthening cooperation between projects. We aim to gather ca. 40 participants and to host the Roundtable as a face-to-face meeting. Online participation is possible.
