The School of Engineering and Architecture of Fribourg (HEIA-FR), a member institution of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland (HES-SO), offers bilingual study programs at the Bachelor and Master levels. The HEIA-FR is looking for a associate professor in analytical chemistry to join the Chemistry Department and the ChemTech institute which hosts cutting-edge infrastructure in addition to offering a stimulating and dynamic work environment.
Mission and scope of activities
- Applied R&D activities in the fields of polymer/material analysis and/or life sciences analytical applications
- Theoretical and practical teaching in analytical chemistry at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, including supervision of Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis projects
Your profile
- PhD in analytical chemistry, or similar
- 5 years of professional experience, particularly in the fields mentioned above
- Experience in R&D project management and fundraising
- Expertise in the areas of quality management and compliance
- Passion for teaching and interaction with students, good pedagogical skills
- Team worker and ability to maintain a professional network
- Proficiency in either French or German and working knowledge of the other language. Excellent knowledge of English

La Haute école d’ingénierie et d’architecture Fribourg (HEIA-FR) est membre de la Haute école spécialisée de Suisse occidentale (HES-SO) et offre des formations bilingues, de niveau bachelor et master. Elle met au concours un poste de professeur-e HES associé-e de chimie analytique.
Mission et domaine d’activité
- Activités de recherche appliquée et développement dans le domaine analytique des polymères/matériaux et/ou des « life sciences »
- Enseignement théorique et pratique: de niveau bachelor et master dans le domaine de la chimie analytique, y compris encadrement de travaux de bachelor et de master
Votre profil
- Doctorat en chimie, domaine d’expertise en chimie analytique, ou de niveau jugé équivalent
- 5 ans d’expérience professionnelle et en particulier dans les domaines d’activités concernées
- Expérience dans l’acquisition de fonds et la conduite de projets
- Très bonnes connaissances dans le domaine de la qualité et du réglementaire
- Attrait marqué pour l’enseignement et le contact avec les étudiant-e-s, bonnes facultés pédagogiques
- Capacité à travailler en groupe et en réseau
- Maîtrise de la langue française ou allemande, avec de bonnes connaissances de l’autre langue, ainsi que de l’anglais
