Every two years, the IWA Micropol and Ecohazard conference brings together colleagues from around the world to hear about the latest research developments on the fate and effects of micropollutants in water, wastewater and drinking water, including technologies for removing these contaminants from water.
The Micropol & Ecohazard Conference 2026 is a premier international event sanctioned by the International Water Association under the auspices of the IWA Specialist Group on the Assessment and Control of Hazardous Substances in Water. These conferences are held every second year to bring together experts, researchers, and professionals to address critical issues related to micropollutants in drinking water, wastewater, and the aquatic environment. We provide a platform for sharing knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions to ensure water safety and environmental sustainability. In 2026, the conference will be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The conference will feature a diverse range of sessions with platform presentations by experts in the field of micropollutants and technologies to control their release into the aquatic environment. A Young Professionals workshop will provide an opportunity for young scientists to learn about and discuss emerging topics in this field. At poster presentations, researchers will engage in discussions about their research findings. Join us to gain valuable insights, network with peers, and contribute to shaping the future of water quality management.
