On April 22-23, 2021 the DIAC organized the 15. Freiburger Symposium the first time as an online eventto fulfill the regulations of the government and to facilitate safe exchange of scientific information. The talks and lectures were provided via the video conference platform Zoom. The organizers under the lead of Urban Jenelten, Firmenich SA, and Roger Marti, HEIA-FR had defined a fantastic program, combining theoretical aspects and practical implementation around the symposium topic «Industrial & Applied Chemistry 4.0».

Beside the scientific lectures, the symposium also offered an excellent platform to exchange research results in form of virtual posters (short video). The two best poster presentations have been awarded with the Freiburger Symposium Poster Prize (certificate and prize money of 200 CHF):

  • Dainis Kaldre, Roche, «From batch to continuous technology: The journey from laboratory to pilot scale»
  • Thomas Ruch, Novartis Pharma AG, «Cipargamin – Development of a new antimalarial drug»
