The EFMC Prizes for Young Medicinal Chemists and Chemical Biologists recognise outstanding scientists working in European Industry and Academia who are within 12 years of obtaining their PhD.

Each prize consists of:

- a diploma;
- a 2,500€ monetary prize;
- an invitation to give an oral presentation at an EFMC symposium.

The 2027 Prize winners will be invited to give an oral communication at the EFMC Synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry 2027, scheduled to be held in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, from August 30 to September 2, 2027.

EFMC Prize for a Young Medicinal Chemist or Chemical Biologist in Industry
Nominations must be submitted by the candidate’s supervisor and include:

  • a one-page nomination letter from the supervisor;
  • a brief CV of the candidate;
  • an abstract of the potential oral presentation.

Applications must include:

  • a one-page letter from the candidate including a brief rationale for their application;
  • a one-page list of the candidate’s five most important publications;
  • a brief CV of the candidate;
  • an abstract of the potential oral presentation.
