Info Session: "A successful proposal for Horizon Europe: Scientific-technical excellence is key, but don’t forget the other aspect"

On the 21st April 2021 the European Commission will organise an open information session on “A successful proposal for Horizon Europe: Scientific-technical excellence is key, but don’t forget the other aspects”.

This webinar is a continuation of the session on “How to prepare a successful proposal in Horizon Europe”, held on the 24th March 2021. It provides additional details on the preparation of a proposal for Horizon Europe, like open science, gender dimension or dissemination, exploitation and communication aspects.

This second Horizon Europe webinar will take place via YouTube only, from 10.00am CEST.

Registration and agenda are available via the following website.

Update your SCS membership profile

By launching the new SCS website we aimed to provide a modern website with clearly structured content that also fulfills the today's safety standards. The site reflects the four business areas in which SCS is active: Events, Networks, Awards and Publishing.

Check your profile on scg.ch and review your areas of interest and affiliations with SCS thematic and social networks. We use the links to send you tailored information about the communities' activities.

We are confident that the new improved website will serve the community and pose an accurate platform for scientific exchange in all fields of chemistry as well as for networking.

SCS Fall Meeting 2021: Register Now!

We are pleased to invite you to the SCS Fall Meeting 2021, one of the largest annual research conferences held in Switzerland. After a successful event last year, we are using the same platform again for this edition due to the uncertain situation with the ongoing pandemic. For the second time the Fall Meeting takes place as an online conference to fulfill the regulations of the government and to facilitate safe exchange of scientific information.

For generations of young chemists educated in Switzerland, the Fall Meeting has been a great platform to present their research –often for the first time ever at a major conference- and to be inspired by the people one gets to meet.

The Scientific Program offers Award Lectures presented by leaders in their respective fields, as well as invited and contributed lectures in nine thematic sessions covering all of chemistry. For each of these, there also is a virtual poster session.

Program Highlights:

  • Two plenary sessions with lectures of SCS price winners 2021
  • Virtual Poster Session during the whole week
  • Nine thematic parallel sessions with key note lectures and 15min PhD presentations
  • Best oral and best virtual poster presentation award ceremony

Topics of the parallel sessions are

  • Analytical Sciences
  • Catalysis Science & Engineering
  • Computational Chemistry
  • Inorganic & Coordination Chemistry
  • Medicinal Chemistry & Chemical Biology
  • Organic Chemistry
  • Physical Chemistry
  • Polymers, Colloids & Interfaces
  • Chemistry and the Environment

Registration to join the conference is mandatory and gives you access to the virtual meeting rooms (Zoom platform).
Registration is now open and is free for SCS Members.

SCS Spring Meeting 2021 will take place on Gather.Town

The Swiss Chemical Society Spring Meeting is a one day symposium and provides a high quality program with national and international speakers of a certain topic.
It is also the platform for the Werner Prize Ceremony and the Werner Award Lecture.

For the first time, the event will be held on the online platform Gather.Town.

Gather.Town is a web browser based virtual space where you can move around with your avatar and get in 1:1 interaction with other conference participants, the speakers and exhibitors. Best results provide the browsers Chrome and Firefox. Please note that the application is not full compatible with browsers like Safari a.o. they may cause distortions of the graphics.
